James Franco tá muito bem nessa série... é óbvio que ele não vai manter a qualidade de interpretação dele nas próximas temporadas, o personagem dele vai sofrer muitas transformações devido as relações comerciais e pessoais. O maneirismo dele não é o suficiente para manter a qualidade.

This was a pretty good episode and the series is developing nicely. That being said, I could have certainly done without the highly explicit gay scenes which is only going to help them draw in a small segment of society as viewers. Normally I would just shut the show down when they go too far like they did in this episode but since the rest of the episode was good enough, I just fast forwarded past the entire segment before I puked up my dinner. They need to remember that they a producing a series about the history of pornography and not producing pornography itself. And if they think they can push the envelope and the sex will sell then, just like selling real porno, they need to choose the straight or gay market. Both will not fly and I say this as a person who distributed dvds and videos since the infancy of the industry and much of which was porno. They can not have the best of both worlds. It is never going to happen. Understandably, this series is documenting the history of the pornography industry from just about every aspect so I understand the need to include gay topics for accuracy. However, if they try too hard to appeal to two entirely different audiences with such explicit gay scenes and do it too often, they will begin to lose many of their viewers from the majority, If the directors think they can appease two entirely opposite audiences with unnecessary gay explicitly, I am afraid they will indeed turn away their core base. Other than that, they are historically accurate in many parts of this story. I just hope they don’t kill their own ratings and get cancelled because they thought they could do the impossible and get the general public to watch such explicit gay scenes regularly and which do not have to be so graphic to tell this story. I think they need to decide if they want to aim the show towards the masses or to a much smaller “politically correct” segment of society. Eventually they will need to choose their base audience and choose whether they want explicit straight scenes or explicit gay scenes, They cannot continue to do both and survive no matter how great the rest of the show is, It doesn’t matter if the snobs in Hollywood slap them with every award under the sun or not. They need to choose a real direction and target audience to cater to...(the norm or the minority). The subject matter should not be left out if they want art to mirror reality but the directors can certainly take the needs of the base audience more seriously and shoot scenes that cater to the smaller segment of the population with more class and less explicitly. As it is already, they are taking a big leap in hoping the quality of the series can be accepted by the masses with the explicit heterosexual scenes but I think it can. If they continue to try to do the same in the other direction, they will cut off their noses to spite their faces. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Shooting an outstanding show and keeping it on the air takes more than just good quality. It also takes being strategically intelligent. Sometimes producers and directors forget who is paying their salaries. Despite how much I like the most of the series, I will not continue to watch weekly if I have to keep my finger on fast forward all the time. Fortunately, it has not been too often yet but the trend seems to indicate that the writers may have a political agenda to push forward which could be over and above just telling an accurate story without offending their core audience

Só quando é claramente forçado no roteiro. E isso pra qualquer cena de sexo, se é complementar a história pra mim é ok, se for claramente apelativo eu lanço um suspiro e reviro os olhos.
